Narrative Task

The action code of this shot is justified through the chorus lyrics which back this moving image. The further action which occurs after these lyrics are a conflict between the two contemporary dance characters which create the narrative. The old political stereotype that females are more emotionally in touch with their feelings is illustrated through this shot with the expression of worry across the star image's face. With a patriachal background in our society the idea that women are of less status, and therefore they are more prone to heartbreak. The pale struck face exhibited in this shot connotes the innocence of the artist.

This establishing 180 degree shot of the star image symbolises the getting back together of the characters in the narrative. This shot takes time out from the story to allow the audience to create their emotional connection with the artist singing, so the words which are said are listened to.

The enigma code is solved through this shot. The narrative throughout the video showcases a 'rocky'; relationship which incorporates upset and happiness. This final shot of a shadow exhibits the 'Happily Ever After' idea. The question asked throughout was - would they sort things out?
Growing up in a society where our audience will have consumed an idea typically from media of a love-hate relationship which turns into a happy ending shows the use of the cultural code.
The symbolism of love is created through this shot, and therefore demonstrates the use of the symbolic code. We can see this demonstrated through the body language as the closeness of their stance connotes protection and togetherness of the two shadow figures.
